The upcoming live-action musical fantasy film Snow White will feature Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. Despite her A-list status from playing Wonder Woman in two feature films, the actress had to audition for the role in the remake of Walt Disney’s 1937 animated feature film Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs. Director Marc Webb and producers wanted to ensure that Gadot could sing, as this is a musical, so they asked her to perform a scene from the screenplay. Gadot revealed during an interview with GQ that it was the first time in a while that she had to audition for a project. She also shared that she spent a significant amount of time preparing for the audition by practicing her singing.
The lead actress of the Fast & Furious franchise, Gal Gadot, recently shared that she had to audition for her role as the Evil Queen in the upcoming live-action remake of Snow White. Despite being an A-list star, she spent a month practicing her musical skills before filming the audition song. The film will also feature new songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the songwriting duo behind The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen. Principal photography for the movie has already been wrapped, and Gadot called the experience “different from anything I’ve ever done.” She also revealed that her daughter initially thought she would be playing Snow White but was delighted when she learned her mother would portray the villain. In an interview with Deadline, Gadot admitted that she is not used to playing a villain on screen and is more accustomed to playing characters with a kind heart.
During the audition process, Gadot shared with GQ that singing was a crucial aspect to be considered since the project was a musical.
