Shakira: Embracing Power and Resilience in Today’s Society.

At the Women in Latin Music Awards by Billboard in Miami, the Colombian artist is honored with this prestigious award.

Even with her own obstacles to overcome, Shakira is shining bright in her flourishing career. The talented singer from Colombia was recognized with the Woman of the Year accolade at the Women in Latin Music Awards by Billboard, held at the Watsco Center in Miami, where she currently lives with her kids.

Maluma paid tribute to Gerard Pique’s ex-partner, who delivered a powerful speech that resonated with everyone in attendance.

She shared, “At some point, every woman reaches a stage where she no longer seeks validation and love from others. The focus shifts from finding a partner to discovering one’s own identity, moving from seeking perfection to embracing one’s true self.”

Shakira has fully embraced the persona of a confident, empowered woman, receiving admiration from the crowd at the Watsco Center. Sharing her thoughts, she said, “The events of the past year have reinforced for me the incredible strength of women. We are braver and more self-sufficient than we realize, defying traditional norms of reliance on others.”

Shakira reflected on how many of us have sought validation, love, or approval from others instead of taking care of ourselves, a trap she admits to falling into. She also praised the way women navigate different relationship challenges, underscoring the significance of loyalty.

“It’s not about the loyalty of others, what really matters is remaining loyal to yourself,” she declared to a roaring crowd. Shakira thanked music for being a beacon of hope in challenging times. “Music helped me rediscover myself when I was at my lowest point,” she reminisced.

“The lessons I have learned from my female peers are invaluable. I use my writing and singing to convey my thoughts and feelings, as a woman’s capacity for love is limitless.”
